Good Nutrition provides
the fundamental building blocks necessary for the body to function
on a cellular level. Hence the statement “You are what You eat”,
what are you made of ? Would you like to be made of, organically
grown foods, or chemicals and processed nutrient devoid foods?
We are constantly
putting things into our mouth which are not us, Yet will make us
what we are! Eating devitalized foods may seem convenient, but it
leads to a devitalized life and a low level of health. The body may
not cope with chemical additives, preservatives, artificial colours,
flavourings and so fourth. The body will function most effectively
on fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, seeds, meat, and fish.
They should be prepared in such a manner that their nutrient value
is not impaired or destroyed.
Nutrition has largely
been ignored in the medical model of thought and training, instead
the focus is on altering the body with manufactured pharmaceutical
drugs.
An important adjunct to
good nutrition is the assimilation of the food into the body. Little
value is obtained from nutritious foods if the digestive ability of
the body is compromised.
My naturopathic
consultations include a focus on the individuals Nutritional status
along with Iridology analysis of the digestive ability of the
individual. This step is important for many reasons, quite often
food allergies and related skin conditions for example, are
considered being caused by food itself. When the cause may well be
by a result of digestive insufficiency caused by various pathogens
or poor tissue integrity. |
